Members of the ILOS Team were delighted to attend the Solar Energy UK Parliamentary Reception on Tuesday 22nd April to launch Solar Habitat 2025.
We heard from Ed Morello MP who opened the reception and Chris Hewitt, Chief Executive of Solar Energy UK, who updated us on the progress of solar in the UK.
So far 17GW of the 2030 47GW target has been constructed with accepted grid offers far exceeding the target.
‘The 2025 Solar Habitat report reinforces our understanding of the positive impact of well managed solar farms on biodiversity. The findings support best practices for ecological monitoring and land management, emphasizing that solar farms can function as valuable habitats while contributing to renewable energy goals.’
