Great news! The UK’s Nature Minister, Mary Creagh CBE MP, has confirmed our understanding that solar farms can actually provide a significant biodiversity net gain, up to 140% in some cases. This is a fantastic opportunity to diversify farm income while supporting nature conservation.
We’re thrilled to see the Minister’s agreement on this important issue which is at the heart of the ILOS approach to increasing biodiversity opportunities within our projects and partnerships.
Kate Covill, ILOS MD says;
“As a solar developer, ILOS is deeply conscious of the environment and strives to ensure that all our sites produce significant Biodiversity Net Gains. We are delighted that the contribution to BNG that solar farms can make has been acknowledged, and we will continue to work to improve the local ecology at all our sites.“
