ILOS partners with landowners and local communities to develop solar and battery storage projects that respect the long-term stewardship of rural land.
Supporting agricultural diversification while enhancing local ecology is the cornerstone of our approach to development. We design projects that enable farming to continue alongside solar generation, ensuring the land remains productive throughout the project’s life.
Our focus is on developing projects that encourage agrivoltaics where possible enabling landowners to continue sheep grazing, consider modern crop cultivation where possible within a site, and to establish pollinator habitats and biodiversity corridors to support further crop pollination across the farm.
Our project designs typically specify solar array heights between 0.6m at the leading edge  and 3.5m high to accommodate agricultural activity, and, at the end of the operational term, equipment is removed, mounting systems are extracted, and land is restored to its original agricultural use in accordance with lease and planning commitments at no stage is the land status altered from that of agricultural.
